Members of Castle Point Astronomy Club met at 4:30 am in the park on Wednesday 6th June in the hope of seeing and recording the transit of Venus.  Their hopes were dashed however.  Cloud cover prevented them from seeing this very rare occurrence and it will be 105 years before it happens again!  What would it have looked like?  You can see a photograph taken by club member Peter Carson in 2004 here:-

We were very pleased to see them in the park and look forward to seeing them again - next time something interesting crosses the sky.
