How to report an incident in the park...
Reporting Anti Social Behaviour
https://www.essex.police.uk/do-it-online/report-anti-social-behaviour/
Anti-social behaviour is a broad term used to describe the day-to-day incidents of crime, nuisance and disorder that make many people’s lives a misery – from litter and vandalism, to public drunkenness or aggressive dogs, to noisy or abusive neighbours. Such a wide range of behaviours means that responsibility for dealing with anti-social behaviour is shared between a number of agencies, particularly the police, councils and social landlords.
"Essex Police will work in partnership to tackle effectively and efficiently high risk of harm and/or prolonged suffering in our communities due to Anti-Social Behaviour."

.... and is it really worth bothering to do it? YES!
Many people ask this question. "The police never come, what can they do?"
We need to ensure that the Police, who work closely with the Council's Community Safety Officers, are aware of the number of times unacceptable incidents occur in the park. We can do this by reporting them. Each incident is then logged onto a database and recorded in the statistics used to plan where Police Officers need to be aware of possible trouble and where patrols might be helpful.
Maintenance Issues
In the same way, we should report maintenance issues to Rochford District Council Customer Services. We are the eyes and ears for RDC, supporting our newly appointed warden. Again, calls are logged and this gives RDC information about the amount of maintenance necessary in the park and the number of staff needed to manage it. We regularly share a log of maintenance issues with RDC's Principle Open Spaces Officer. You can see the issues log HERE.

Incidents that should be reported to the Police by ringing 101
Motor bikes, quad bikes, off road bikes being ridden in the park. Anti-social behaviour - large groups getting roudy. Quote the full name and address of the park - see map below. Fishing - fishing is not permitted in the lake at Cherry Orchard Park. East Anglia Fisheries Enforcement Officer, Tom, has offered his number to FoCOP to use if anyone witnesses fishing at the lake. He works at weekends so is a good point of contact, especially as this is the most common time for fishermen. He does have the right to arrest, so if he is in the area when he gets a call he is able to drive over and enforce the NO FISHING rule. The number is – 07786 855037 |
